Returning a favour; Blogging activities you can enjoy!

This is a follow-up to my thank you note and also the last blogtober challenge for this year :(
Since blogging is all about love and sharing, I feel like I should give something back. So here are my 2 ideas for blogging activities, we  could all enjoy. If you like them and would like to try them out, I`m all for it! Just leave me a message, comment, hit me with an e-mail, friend me on facebook, anything that works.

Blogchain reaction

This idea promotes group work and teamplay:

1. Bloggers participating in this activity are queued by numbers.

  • First number blogger writes a post about anything he wishes to. Alternatively, there could be a topic set at the beginning. Once they finish their post, blogger with number 2 has to add to this post their chain. But here`s a catch:
  • The next post has to be somehow logically tied up to the previous post, so it seems like one big changing story. So if there is a first post ending with how to fight depression with music, second blogger writing about fashion might choose to continue with an outfit they think would cheer-up anybody. So basically, you have to start with a given topic to make an impression of continuity, but you can end your part with whatever topic you consider fit.
  • How would it look like? Every blogger`s number would clearly appear in a title, with a link to the previous part at the beginning of post. Another link to the group webpage should appear too. There are to be no introductions in posts, just another story. You are completely free to style your post or add pictures in any manner you think is appropriate.

2. To keep a sense of continuity in this challenge for all the others:

  • There will be a group webpage set, where a moderator would put posts in order, so any visitor can read this chain reaction from the beginning.
  • In the end, moderator will put together all posts in a picture adjusting  software (possibly by taking screenshots), creating one story with a whole variety of writing styles, designs and ideas. Then moderator posts this final product on the group webpage, so the other participants can also take it and share this opus magna on their blogs.
  • The number of rounds in chain will be discussed before the activity starts, so there could be 1, or more. Clear schedule is to be set and all participants who miss their moment are out (except special cases). The periodicity for posts could be at once or twice a week It all depends on the number of participants. This is a great idea for an e-book, if there is a common topic set, by the way :) Unite, Promote and Develop your blogging strategies!

Polarised blog

This activity is similar to Blogtober, with 2 major differences:

1. Topics don`t have to be set prior to the beginning of challenge

  • The goal of this challenge is to write ordinary posts first. Then, bloggers must reverse a natural order of sentences in their post, from A - Z to Z - A. So basically, every post starts with an ending and every end is at the beginning. Polarity doesn`t have to affect pictures and other elements, like design of webpage. The goal here is to keep a sense of structure of blog post, even if it`s polarised. Think of it as another way to boost your creativity! Reverse it!

2. Length and periodicity of challenge is to be discussed

  • Since all participating posts are not only to be written first, but then reversed, this poses a major time-consuming factor. Because of that, periodicity of such posts could be somewhere at once a week, or even less. This depends on discussion among participants. Among the participants, one moderator is chosen, to set any uncertanties.
If anybody would like to suggest a way of making these challenges better, or even participate, let me know so we can start creating something brand new!
